I’ve been a journalist for two years but a storyteller my whole life. As a sports enthusiast, my life has revolved around sports, whether I am the athlete playing or the reporter behind the scenes. During my early teen years, I set a goal for myself that I would become a sports journalist. I was and still am extremely passionate about reaching my goal.
Here I am, a junior at the University of Oregon in the midst of my journey to becoming a sports journalist. I grew up watching and playing sports for 10 amazing years. These experiences have helped me grow as an athlete, person and journalist. At the University of Oregon, I am a sports reporter for KWVA, a student-led radio station and a reporter for Duck TV, a student-led television production. Additionally, I am apart of AWSM, the Association for Women in Sports Media. These three outlets have provided me with “real world” opportunities that have developed my skills and have challenged me to use different forms of multimedia. Other than my passion for journalism, I love music and attending concerts to connect with people and artists alike. With music, I am able to be part of a community that shares the same enthusiasm for something that I love.
